If you’ve gotten to this page, then you know I’m holding a raffle to raise money for the Eleonore Rocks Foundation. Help me raise $2250 that will allow the foundation to put 5 high quality durable and comfortable rocking chairs in NICUs and at-risk birthing rooms. It’s an ambitious goal, but I think the raffle is a great way to help get us there! I’m doing things a little differently this year to allow there to be more winners and provide a greater variety of prizes.

How it works: for each $5 you donate by “buying me” in the Eleonore Rocks store, you get a raffle entry. Because there are a bunch of different prizes, I’m going to allow you to target your entries towards the items you’re interested in. I get a report each week on who donated, and I’ll contact you via email to figure out which prizes you want your entries put towards. You can also list it in the comments if you know for sure where you want your entries directed. This way you have better chances of winning the prizes you’re most interested in and not worrying you’ll wind up with something you don’t want. Only entries submitted by 2/29/12 at 11:59 PM will be eligible for the raffle.

The February Raffle Prizes: 

• Justin Bieber Autograph: I personally obtained this autograph from Justin at CES 2012 where he was representing TOSY Robotics. He seemed like a nice kid, very polite, and this prize would be a great gift for that nice kid, tween, teen, or even maybe that grownup in your life who has “Bieber Fever”. The retail value is “priceless”.

•  Polar FT40 HRM prize pack: This prize pack includes a Polar FT40 Heart Rate Monitor watch & chest strap, a size XL tech Polar branded tee-shirt, a Polar branded tech hat, a very nice drawstring backpack (way better than most of the ones you get at races), and some stickers. The prize pack has a retail value of $280.

• Spinervals On the Road & Flexible Warrior Prize Pack: My triathlon coach this season is Colleen “Dr. Pain” Kelly, PhD. who works for CoachTroy.com. Coach Troy Jacobson may be more well known to a lot of folks in the cycling and triathlon world for his Spinervalsline of training DVDs. Coach Troy was kind enough to donate 4 DVDs as a raffle prize, and let me pick what to include. As a triathlete who writes about my life preparing for triathlons, I figured what could be better than a package that focuses on triathletes. I chose 2 DVDs from his “On the Road” series that features actual rides on WTC Ironman bike courses (Lake Placid & Wisconsin), another On the Road DVD filmed on country back roads (because I wanted you to get a taste of what my rides are here are like), and finally a Flexible Warrior DVD that is yoga specifically focused for triathletes. • Jabra SPORT Bluetooth headphones: I found out about Jabra SPORT headphones at CES 2012. They’ve recruited Crowie Alexander as their representative, and not only were they kind enough to get me a review unit (which I’m still evaluating but really liking so far) they also have provided a unit to include in the raffle. Finally not having to worry about the cord coming unhooked from my MP3 player during a run is quite a nice feature, plus they’ve got good sound quality and are easy to sync. Plus, they don’t seem to drain my phones battery like I thought they might. Retail value on these is ~$95

• Peeled Snacks Fruit Picks Variety Pack (x2): Peeled Snacks makes organic fruit snacks. Rach and I love them, and it’s one of the few ways that I’ll eat apples (I don’t like the skin). The variety packs have 2 each of the apple, apricot, cherry, banana, mango, and pineapple single serve pouches, and since this prize pack is for 2 of them, that means you get 4 of each and 24 in total.

The monthly prizes: At the end of each month starting with February and ending at the end of September, I’ll be giving away a monthly prize that anyone who has donated in that month is eligible for. These are TBD but theyre going to be fun things to keep people motivated on giving.

The Grand Prize: I set my fundraising goal at donating 5 chairs which is $2250. When I reach that goal, everyone who has donated to that point will have all of their entries re-applied to win one of these bad boys:
